But first, an origin story:

Dr. Carl Hahn (1926–2023) was a key figure in Volkswagen’s rise as a global automaker. He first joined VW in the 1950s and played a major role in introducing the Volkswagen Beetle to the U.S. market—helping make it one of the best-selling cars of all time.

After a stint leading Continental AG, Hahn returned to Volkswagen and served as CEO from 1982 to 1993. During his tenure, he transformed VW into a true international brand. He expanded aggressively into global markets—most notably Eastern Europe and China—laying the groundwork for Volkswagen’s joint ventures there that still dominate today.

This dining set is from Dr. Hahn’s private collection. Crafted from tropical hardwood and tooled leather.

Selling as a set.

Shows intentional tool marks and scuffing from wear. See photos for condition. Some gaps between wood planks at the end of the table, but extremely sturdy and solid in construction. Sling backs show some discoloration in spots, have been recently conditioned. There are leather seat cushions we’ll send along, but show some staining and a few spots of separation along the seams.
