Description
A substantial Danish oak writing desk attributed to Henning Kjærnulf, combining a generous work surface with practical built-in storage. This piece has six side drawers, a locking center drawer, and open back shelving with an adjustable center shelf. It has the presence of a serious desk — the kind that anchors a home office or study without needing anything else in the room to justify the space.
The kneehole is well-proportioned at 24 inches wide and nearly 24 inches high. The back shelving adds display and reference storage without adding visual bulk. The warm oak and restrained hardware are consistent with Kjærnulf’s approach throughout the 1970s. The top has been refinished at some point and presents well. The remainder of the desk retains its original hard wax oil finish. Key present for center drawer, lock functional. Unmarked.
